this time it's analyzing speeches from two great leaders, Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill. one from the Allies and the other from the Axis. both have one similarity and that is to persuade their subject about their vision and mission and also to raise their spirits. in terms of style of speech delivery, both should be given full marks because they are very persuasive. i said that because the points that they used in their speech are true to the context and relevant to their purpose of fighting.
they are both very manipulative because all the things that they said are relevant to what were happening during that era. it's hard to question what they were suggesting if you are already brainwashed with their propaganda. listening to their speech, you'll feel very motivated because they also give you hopes and promises that can be believed in during that era. both leaders have used the right words in their speeches because people who listened to them will do whatever that were said in the speech because it sound so true and promising.
after analyzing both speeches, i found that both leaders use the pronoun "I" throughout their speeches. it shows that they are using their full power as leaders and really want their subject to listen to them. but towards the end of the speech, the changed the pronoun to "we". i think it's because they already got their listener's attention and trying to put the feeling of 'togetherness' in their subject. it's like they are trying to make the listeners feel that 'we are together in this thing'.
